  • How do I know that the ice will be safe?
Safety is our #1 priority. We brief our clients on ice safety before every trip. We perform routine daily checks of ice conditions and monitor weather forecasts. Simply put, we do not take risks. If weather or ice conditions are not 100% safe, we will not head out. We also provide each client with a set of premium boot cleats to prevent any slips or falls on the ice.
  • Do you have a fish guarantee?
Sometimes the fish just aren’t biting. It is an extremely rare occurrence, but we understand that it happens. Our guides do their very best to bring clients to the most bountiful fishing grounds. However, in the case that nothing works, we will enact a Fish-On Ice Fishing guarantee. If you are not happy with the fishing during the day of your experience, your next trip will be 30% off.
  • How can I prepare for my upcoming trip?
Please dress for winter conditions. Although the shelters are very warm and cozy, it may take some time to set up these shelters. Please dress in layers, remember to bring gloves/mittens, wear wool socks, hats, and your boots. We also recommend that you bring sunglasses. Lastly, please bring your valid Ontario fishing license. It is required by law and allows you to fish public waters within Ontario. You can purchase a fishing license from certain outdoors stores or online here: (Children under the age of 18 and adults over the age of 65 do not require a fishing license but do require some form of identification.)
  • Are you child and beginner-friendly?
Yes, Fish-On Ice Fishing is proud to offer packages catering to children and beginners. Our guides are friendly, university-educated people of the community and have extensive experience working with children, young adults, and beginners. Our guides take pride in carefully explaining everything about ice fishing in simple and easily understood terms.
